The United Arab Emirates’s leading flag carrier is set to dive into the digital asset space by leveraging cryptos, NFTs, and the metaverse. The entry is a part of the strategy to connect with thousands of customers in a fast and flexible way. The Emirates will start its foray into crypto by introducing BTC as a payment method and the company will add NFT collectibles ont eh website for trading. As such, the airliner based in Dubai noted that it will onboard some new staff for the NFTs and the metaverse. The chief operating officer Adel Ahmed al-Redha said the main goal behind the move is to build applications and keep a track of the various client needs. He also noted that the airline will leverage blockchain technology to trace the records of the aircraft:

“With the metaverse, you will be able to transform your whole processes — whether it is in operation, training, sales on the website, or complete experience — into a metaverse type application, but more importantly making it interactive.”

Dubai’s Emirates airline developments came a month after the Emirates revealed plans to launch NFTs and other metaverse experiences for the customers and the employees. Embracing the digital asset space was in line with the vision for the digital economy. In line with it, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed al Maktoum as the chairman and the chief executive of Emirates Airline and Group stressed that the company adopted advanced technologies to ramp up the busienss processes and improve the customer offerings as well as upgrade the employees’ skills and experiences:

“We are excited about the opportunities in the digital space of the future and are committing a significant investment in financial and resourcing terms, to develop products and services using advanced technologies that will deliver on revenue, brand experience, and business efficiencies.”

The airline said it will continue to collaborate with the industry partners to boost the Web3 strategy while hiring mroe talent for upcomign initiatives.
